Day 33 - Bring it on

Barbara on December 20th, 2007

Today was my cardio day and it started off well with a 6km run at the gym. I seem to have found my pace - all I need to do now is get some decent music that I can run to. I am still trying to work out what bpm tunes I need to get. I am thinking somewhere between 140-150 will be best. Once I work that out, I’ll be able to get a disc and upload something onto the shuffle. It gets painful having to continually press the next button while I’m running. Cycle class was awesome (as usual) - Our instructor asked if anyone needed a rest because it got quite hot in the cycle room (again) - I say “No way - Bring it on!!” If only the classes went for longer - they are just so much fun.

Day 17 - Getting Fitter

Barbara on November 29th, 2007

Wow - what a day :) I headed down to gym this morning and was really looking forward to getting on the treadmill - but had to wait. I didn’t care so much, just jumped on the cross trainer and worked out on that for awhile until one came free. It took about 15 minutes and I was already working up a sweat. I jumped on the treadmill and did a good 6km run. Was completely knackered - it’s all good though - I still felt great :) Went back at 7pm for cycle class. It’s so much fun LOL - I’d do it every day if there was a class. It was pretty warm in the room but the fans were working again which was good. The instructor came around and said that it looked like I was “doing it easy” and turned up the tension on the bike - it suddenly became bloody hard - really hard actually. But I survived it so I must be getting fitter :)

Day 12 - Back to Front

Barbara on November 22nd, 2007

After Sunday’s cycle class the first thing I did was check the programs on the wall to see when Colin (the Sunday cycle instructor) was on again. And you wouldn’t believe my luck! You guessed it, he does a cycle class every Wednesday night. Trouble is, I usually do the cycle class in the morning so I can run at night. Today I turned it all around, I went to the gym in the morning and ran 6kms and then went back at 7pm for the fun cycle class. It was a blast LOL. I really enjoyed it again and wished it went longer. I just get a real buzz out of it. It was so hot though - they are currently doing a few renovations around the gym and none of the fans worked. Thank god everyone was wearing deodorant as you can imagine how hot and sweaty it was in there - the windows actually fogged up LOL - it was almost like being in a sauna. It was well worth it though. I’m going to miss Sunday’s class this week which will be very sad :(

Day 10 - Hot & Sweaty

Barbara on November 20th, 2007

Geez, it was hot today at Gym - worked up a real sweat LOL. Was looking forward to getting in there and doing my program (even though I was a bit sore from yesterday’s cycle class). Got through it fairly quickly though and again managed to increase a few weights. I think I would have looked a bit funny though as I had the shakes a bit LOL. Went back later to do my 5km run. Wasn’t sure if I’d get through it but surprised myself and actually ran 6km. It’s okay, I can pretend I can hear you all clapping LOL - thank you, thank you. I had a small problem with the guy on the treadmill next to me though - he had no deodorant. All I can say is it’s lucky I breathe through my mouth otherwise it wouldn’t have been pretty seeing what I ate for dinner. I know it was a hot & sweaty day, but it doesn’t take much to spray/roll some on. So, not only do I need my towel and blinkers, I’ll need nose plugs next LMAO. Lets hope Day 11 can bring a more refreshing day :)

Day 9 - I love cycle class

Barbara on November 18th, 2007

I had the best time today at gym. Cycle class was on at 10.00am and it was another instructor again. I have never seen him at the gym before (apparently he was on holiday) but he does the usual Sunday class. Well sign me up for every Sunday please - he made it so much fun that I was actually smiling and laughing while peddling my poor legs off. One day I know I will fall off the bike, I can just see it. How anyone can be as uncoordinated on a stationary bike as me, I have no idea LOL. I think I peddle too fast that my legs get confused - Is there such a thing as that happening LMAO. I didn’t get too puffed though with the 50 min class but went that lovely shade of red again. We did jumps and climbed mount everest I think but it was well worth it. Have you all gone and done a class yet? If not, get off your bums and go try it out - It’s so much fun - I love cycle class :)

Day 6 - Cycle, cycle, cycle

Barbara on November 16th, 2007

I don’t remember it being THAT hard last week? Maybe it was just the different instructor – even the jumps weren’t as much fun. Had a bit of a giggle at the old 80’s music though which made it a bit more enjoyable. One of the ladies in there said she nearly vomited – How gross is that LOL. Went back later and did my 5km run (yes, it was actually 5.1 to be precise). That felt great – the legs were a bit tired but I got through it :) Got a comment on the way out - “Gee your face is red” - thanks guys, like I didn’t know that already LOL
