After taking so many horrible, blurry and out of focus photos at my sisters wedding, I have decided that it isn’t me that can’t take good pics but the camera LOL. Seriously, my camera really is bad. When I first got it (it was my first digital) I though it was the absolute best and thought it took great photos - which it does, if I am outside during the day, and the day is nice and sunny. But put me in a church or a dark room or outside when it is overcast or raining and the photos all come out crappy. I was so disappointed when I looked back on them. It’s not as if I am able to ask people to re-do what they did so that I can take a better picture. When I really try to capture a moment, it just doesn’t work. I don’t know, maybe it is me - but looking back at all my old photos that needed to be processed at the shop, I hardly ever had a blurry one. One of my sister’s friends has an awesome digital that I am going to put on my Christmas wish list this year. It is a Kodak Easyshare M1073, and I’d like it in pink please

A quick update to my earlier blog about the Worlds Greatest Shave

It’s now official - I have registered for the shave and now have my own sponsorship page

I should get my pack in the mail sometime over the next two weeks and have plenty of time to try and get some sponsors. If you would like to sponsor me for it, you can easily do it online and follow the links. Every little bit will help and all donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.

I am actually going to do the shave a week early (on 8 March 2009) as I am heading up to Queensland for a weekend away with some of the girls from All For Women and thought it would be a great opportunity to do it then.

So until then, lets see how much more my hair can grow

My beautiful sister is now married :) It was a lovely wedding and just so romantic. All day I worried that it was going to rain as it was so overcast here, but they were getting married about an hour away and it is usually nicer weather up there. When it was time to leave home, it was sooooo cold and I had bought a nice yellow summery dress to wear but hadn’t planned on it being so cold and had to drag out an old daggy cardy to keep me warm. This is what the weather looked like on the way there. Pretty dismal hey?

We got there in plenty of time and I needed to find the celebrant as I was in charge of the music in the garden. I found her and was told it had all been changed at the last minute and was now to be held in the chapel instead because of the weather. Which was really nice. I practiced the music and set it up for my sisters entrance song so all I had to do was press play. You would have thought it was me getting married again, I was so nervous about stuffing it up. For those who don’t know me, I am a HUGE clutz and always manage to do something destructive wherever I go. I trip, knock things over, bump into things etc etc. Anyway, the door opened, I pressed play (had to turn it up louder though) forgot to get my camera out, nearly fell over trying to find it LOL but managed to get a quick snap before she got to the front *phew*.

The ceremony went well, I played two more songs while they signed and I witnessed, they were then introduced as Mr & Mrs, I played the last song and my job was done. Off for some much needed bubbly LOL

I’ve got to say, I don’t normally drink and have never been a champagne drinker but this stuff was bloody good. Yep, fill her up, no probs, okay just a small top up, oh if I must, and another, and another, ooh yeah ta LOL - It’s now on the Christmas-to-drink-list *hehe*

We had a heap of family photos taken and then back down into the reception area for more drinks and nibblies before my sister and BIL came back to celebrate.

While we were standing around chatting, I noticed a stand to the side with all these profiteroles on them and thought YUM, my boys would love one of those (thinking they were part of the nibblies) - Luckily someone pointed out the knife behind them and mentioned it was their wedding cake! HOLY CRAP, can you imagine if I had told the boys to go for it *bahahahaha*. I told my sister I was going to blame the pregnant lady that was there if they had eaten any. The profiteroles were supposed to have web-like icing to connect them all, but that didn’t happen - not sure why. Here’s a photo of the cake

Most of my photos didn’t turn out very well - not sure if it was because of me or the camera. My sister has got plenty though to sort through. It was a beautiful wedding and she couldn’t have picked a better husband - they are both full of awesomes

I have a bit of time I up my sleeve before I do the Worlds Greatest Shave so have been looking around for those dainty nice beanies you see. You know, the old fashion type that fits snugly to your head, yet is still really pretty and feminine. I have seen them at markets but thought I might have a go at making one myself.

I don’t want anything too thick so am contemplating whether to crochet a cotton one or getting some small knitting needles and doing it that way. Decisions, decisions, mmmmm *scratches head*. I have a small problem though ……… I have only ever been able to knit a scarf and I have no idea how to crochet LMAO.

I have always wanted to learn so I might have to get some books from the library and finally learn or look for some step by step links online.

Surely it can’t be that hard ……….

I have just had an awesome weekend with 8 wonderful ladies, Leigh, Naomi, Rah, Di, Kay, Heather, Robyn (and Mel who popped in on Sunday). It was a fantastic get-together to farewell Naomi who is off to Copenhagen in 8 weeks (for twelve long months). But as it happens, it also fell close to Pink Ribbon Day so we decided to have a big pink ribbon breakfast. What a feast! There were pink scrambled eggs (that looked really funky but tasted awesome), cupcakes (that originally looked fantastic but unfortunately melted in the sun lol), raisin toast, pink strawberry philli, bacon, fresh fruit, my *ahem* famous tang dip and heaps more along with pink balloons, streamers, ribbons, napkins, plates, shirts - the works.

The highlight of the breakfast though (other than Leigh munching down on a scrambled egg & strawberry philli cupcake *eww*) was for all of us ladies to wear a bra (on the outside of our shirts) that we had decorated and have a bit of a fashion parade. The parade didn’t really happen but we all gathered outside for lots of photos. The bras were all great not to mention that bloody ENORMOUS bra that I still cannot get over *faints*. Seriously, it was that big my head fit into it LMAO. There is photographic evidence of that on someone’s camera *hehe*.

I am definitely going to need a few days rest after the weekend - It was just awesome - thanks ladies!

Here is the bra I decorated - Isn’t she pretty

Flickr Friday finished up a few months back (although I hadn’t done it for awhile - long story) but I really enjoyed playing along. Anyway I have decided to make my own Friday Fotos mosaic each week by taking my own shots of different things around the house, all based on a theme. Some of my favourite things in the house are made from Bamboo and/or Rattan so that is what this weeks theme is all about.

I got my new car today *jumps about like it’s Christmas*

It’s been ages since I have upgraded my car and I have been so looking forward to today

We went down a few weeks ago to have a look at a Mazda 3 and I just fell in love with the car. The exterior of it is fab, the interior is awesome and the safety mechanisms of the whole car are just fantastic. What a beauty hey? The guy down at Mazda was great, not pushy or demanding and he went through a whole heap of stuff with us - we did the deal there and then. Found out after the deal that he was actually the manager there - not even a salesperson LOL. Anyway, went down there today at 2pm to pick it up and was greeted by the manager and one of his team executives who took me to my car and showed me what all the fancy buttons do lol. Then the manager came out with a pressie for me! A nice bottle of Cab Sav, some chocolates and a mini road directory - sweet.

Beep Beep - off I went, waving goodbye to my little Lanos and telling her (as I zoomed past) that she did me proud. Half way home I realised that I FORGOT the remote control for the garage *slaps head*. I was too embarrassed to go back so I rang them from my mobile and asked if they could please post it to me. Not a problem :) I ended up picking the kids up from school and went around to show the car off to my sister (who loved it too - mind you, as we were leaving her daughter dropped her bottle which splashed all over the side of the car so it has also now been christened with milk lol). We didn’t get home until after 4pm.

Imagine my surprise though when I checked the mailbox only to find that they had ALREADY delivered my remote control. Now that is what I call service!!
