Sisterhood of the traveling bra
What is that I hear you ask? It’s a beautiful BIG pink bra that is being sent (traveling) all around the world. It all started at All for Women and has already traveled from Sydney to Queensland and Melbourne. I finally got my turn to meet, greet and do something interesting with it. I thought it would be a good laugh to take it on a run with me LOL. I got a few funny looks along the way and had hubby with me to take some pics. It’s soon heading back to NSW and then it’s off on a world wide trip to meet a lot of wonderful women. If you would like to be a part of the fun or want to know more about it, you can check it all out or even register at Sisterhood of the traveling bra.

Day 18 - Out of routine
This morning I went to gym earlier than usual (have hubby home so he took the kids to school) and got through my weights program fairly quickly. It’s odd though because I then became hungry earlier than usual and my whole daily routine went out the window. I had most of my meals at least 1/2 an hour early. I eat 5 meals a day and have 3 protein shakes each day (after every workout and one in the afternoon). My workout was good though - I really pushed myself with the weights because I know I have my assessment in two days. Went back for my usual cardio workout/run which was good but I was disappointed with my sons mp3 player. I had spent most of the afternoon putting songs on it to run to only to have it not work (flat batteries from uploading the songs LOL). Am so glad I finally bought my shuffle a wall charger - just need to plug it in now to get it going again. Anyway, training day is over and I will make sure I go at the normal time tomorrow so I’m not out of routine again.
Day 17 - Getting Fitter
Wow - what a day
I headed down to gym this morning and was really looking forward to getting on the treadmill - but had to wait. I didn’t care so much, just jumped on the cross trainer and worked out on that for awhile until one came free. It took about 15 minutes and I was already working up a sweat. I jumped on the treadmill and did a good 6km run. Was completely knackered - it’s all good though - I still felt great
Went back at 7pm for cycle class. It’s so much fun LOL - I’d do it every day if there was a class. It was pretty warm in the room but the fans were working again which was good. The instructor came around and said that it looked like I was “doing it easy” and turned up the tension on the bike - it suddenly became bloody hard - really hard actually. But I survived it so I must be getting fitter ![]()
Day 16 - Where’s my bum gone?
Was working hard at the gym this morning doing my triceps rope extensions when I looked in the mirror and noticed my bum has gone? Where has it gone though? It’s just flat - there is nothing there. I need some booty - and I’d like it back now please LOL. Obviously I haven’t been training my lower body over the last 3 weeks but I’ve been running almost every night and doing cycle classes. Surely that would help. I think I need to to incorporate some hack squats or lunges. I’ve only got three more sessions left until I see my trainer and I know already that he will change my program again. Will make sure he puts something in there to help me get my bum back LOL. My cardio session was hard tonight - I think I need to slow it up a bit - am probably getting a little ahead of myself (still felt good after it though LOL). Have got cycle class tomorrow - can’t wait ![]()
Day 15 - Great, I have an audience
Well day 15 was a good day - I did a hard weights session at the gym in the morning and an even harder cardio session later that night. I really wanted to push myself to see just how fast and far I could run in 30 minutes. I ran my 5km in just under 27 minutes which is awesome. The only downside to it was I had an audience of a few young guys. I caught them watching when I checked over my shoulder to see where my sister was at and then they decided that the treadmill beside me was a good place to hang out. I suppose I should be flattered but it was really off-putting. They got over their fascination after about 10 minutes and left me to it. Lets hope I can get through it tomorrow night by myself LOL.
Next Assessment
I’ve booked my next assessment for Saturday 1st December. It will be exactly a month since my last assessment. I’ve been good and have been eating all my oats, spinach, tuna, rice, pasta, fish etc etc. My scales at home show that I’ve lost a bit more weight and body fat so it will be really interesting to see what the scales and measurements come up as at gym. I’m not too fussed on the weight side of things - just the measurements and bodyfat percentage. I tried to sneak on the scales at gym the other morning but couldn’t get them to work. Serves me right I suppose for being so impatient LOL. Adding it all up now, by the time my assessment comes around I would have ran 87.6kms over 3 weeks, trained with weights over 12 sessions and done a couple of great cycle classes. Not a bad effort hey? I know it’s going to be a long slog but I am enjoying it so much
Wish me luck - I’ll let you all know how I go ![]()
Day 14 - Run, run, as fast as you can
Well I trained hard today - really hard. I could feel myself shake and literally had no strength left at the end of my reps. My trainer wasn’t there to see how hard I trained though but he would have been happy with what I did. I went back later for my cardio session and I ran really fast. Amazingly though, it was a comfortable run, if you know what I mean. I think I have found my tempo LOL. I made sure I downloaded a heap of good rock songs on my shuffle and just got on with what I had to do. I didn’t even get a chance to peep at the time - before I knew it, the treadmill had started to slow up for my cool-down. I’m sure I could have ran longer - but I didn’t (give me a chance - can’t do too much yet). I am getting hooked again though - I can just feel it LOL
Day 13 - A little flat
I was a little flat today - I still did my program but rested a little longer in between sets. My trainer even asked me if I was in holiday mode LOL. He kept looking over to see what I was doing and pulled me up a few times on how I was training. I still get a bit embarrassed when I know someone is watching me train. You know what it’s like - you don’t want to do anything wrong or pull a stupid face so you try to be all cool calm and collected but it still backfires on you (well it did for me LOL). Anyway, I went back later for my run and he asked if I was going to put a bit more effort into it. Well of course I did - I ran faster and worked really hard. I felt great for it too - in fact, it felt that good, I am going to run faster again tomorrow night. Looking forward to it ![]()
Day 12 - Back to Front
After Sunday’s cycle class the first thing I did was check the programs on the wall to see when Colin (the Sunday cycle instructor) was on again. And you wouldn’t believe my luck! You guessed it, he does a cycle class every Wednesday night. Trouble is, I usually do the cycle class in the morning so I can run at night. Today I turned it all around, I went to the gym in the morning and ran 6kms and then went back at 7pm for the fun cycle class. It was a blast LOL. I really enjoyed it again and wished it went longer. I just get a real buzz out of it. It was so hot though - they are currently doing a few renovations around the gym and none of the fans worked. Thank god everyone was wearing deodorant as you can imagine how hot and sweaty it was in there - the windows actually fogged up LOL - it was almost like being in a sauna. It was well worth it though. I’m going to miss Sunday’s class this week which will be very sad ![]()
Day 11 - Rest more then work harder
My workout was good today, hard but good. I had to wait a few times for some of the machines but that was okay because I got to have a bit of a rest. Although, I decided that if I have a bigger rest, then I can do a harder workout. It was all worth it and I was pretty exhausted when I was finished but I felt good.
I went back to do my a run a bit later than usual and the gym was packed. Remind me never to go at that time again. I had to wait nearly 15 minutes for a treadmill – so as soon as there was one free I hogged it all to myself for the next 35 minutes – oink oink LOL. My runs seem to be getting a little easier too so I might increase the speed and see how I go ![]()
